Debutant delight for England boss Wiegman

England Women eased to a 3-0 victory over Australia on Tuesday evening in a friendly match that was marred by an injury to young striker Michelle Agyemang.

Having played for much of Saturday's game against Brazil with a numerical advantage, England's opponents again had an opponent sent off in the early stages of the game but Australia were unable to match the defensive discipline of the Brazilians as goals from Aggie Beever-Jones, Lucy Bronze and a late Georgia Stanway penalty pleased the sell-out Pride Park crowd.

There was also an impressive debut display from Aston Villa midfielder Lucia Kendall and Sarina Wiegman told ITV4 afterwards: "She understands things and that just comes with her and she keeps things really simple but that's not always easy.

"She has impressed us too, and that's why she deserved a start today."

England have two more home matches before the end of the year, including a Wembley date against China on Saturday 29 November and then at St Mary's, Southampton, when Ghana provide the opposition on 2 December.

Tickets for both of those games are available via the Wembley Stadium page.

England's Women's U23s drew 1-1 with Portugal at Northampton's Sixfields Stadium on Monday evening and also have two further home fixtures remaining in 2025, more details here
