Former England manager Steve McClaren is said considering his future at Nottingham Forest, despite only taking charge at the City Ground this summer.
McClaren, 50, who was appointed just 11 weeks ago, has retreated to his family home in the north-east to think about his position after becoming increasingly frustrated at a lack of investment in his team according to the Daily Telegraph.
The Championship club and McClaren's agent Colin Gordon have declined to comment when contacted.
McClaren saw nine players leave Forest over the summer, bringing in four replacements.
He spent £2million pounds as Ishmael Miller, Jonathan Greening, George Boateng and Andy Reid came to the club.
McClaren was reported to be denied several moves in the transfer market on deadline day. McClaren, who returned to English football after spells in Holland and Germany, is thought to be irked by the fact he was told funds would be available for transfers.
Billy Davies, McClaren's predecessor as Forest boss, repeatedly complained about a lack of transfer resources but was widely derided by opposition fans whose clubs had spent far less than his.
