England beat hosts Finland 3-2 to go through to the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 2009.

Two goals from Eniola Aluko, who now tops the Adidas Golden Boot table with three goals, plus one from Fara Williams, earned England their place in the final four of the competition, in Turku today.

The sell out crowd watched a thrilling match, with a huge Finnish contingency willing their team to victory, only to have their hopes dashed after just 14 minutes, when Aluko struck home the first of her two goals.

Williams scored the second on 49 minutes and Finland looked to be beaten, but a goal from Sjolund in the 66th minute raised their spirits, only for them to be dashed again a minute later, with Aluko's second goal.

Sallstrom offered the Finns a life line on 79 minutes, but England hung on and claimed the victory.

England will now play either France or the Netherlands in Tampere, on Sunday.
