Brent originally trained as a P.E. teacher at Cullum College, Oxford in the mid 70's after coaching a local boys club in Fulham.
Brent's playing career saw him play for Kingstonian FC and Feltham FC in the Isthmian League at right-back. Experience includies Chapman University College (California), Brentford FC, Millwall FC, Watford FC and Fulham FC. He lectured in Sports and Exercise Science at Southbank University and Southwark College, where he started the first English female college football academy in 1998 (of which Kate Chapman was a player).
He holds the UEFA Pro Licence, the UEFA A Licence, the FA Level 5 Psychology in Football Diploma, an M.Sc. in Sports Coaching (Brunel University) and is an FA Coach Education Diploma Holder.
