Emily has played for her country at U16, U19 and U21 level.

After an injury to Kelly Smith Emily stepped in to the Senior squad and made her debut against Italy at MK dons in February 2005.

Emily lost almost 18 months of her career just a few weeks after playing for England at the FIFA U19 Women's World Cup finals in 2002, when she damaged her cruciate ligament in her right knee.

Her move to Everton at the beginning of the 2006-7 season now sees Emily playing against some of her rivals for an England place.
