Fara made her Senior debut for England away to Portugal at just 17 years old, coming on as a substitute. She scored from a free-kick in the return fixture - on her full debut - in front of 9,000 fans at Fratton Park, Portsmouth. At this time, she was still a regular for the U19s who she went on to captain, and earn over 20 caps.
Fara captained the U19s side against in the UEFA U19 European Championships in 2003 where she secured the Player of the Match against Sweden, and helped England to the semi finals where they eventually bowed out to France.
Fara missed much of the 2002-03 season with a back injury, but through regular rehabilitation work she has returned to give an added boost to both club and country.
Fara is a competitive midfielder with an explosive shot, scoring thirteen goals from midfield, including the opener against Italy in February 2005 and a brace against Mexico in the Algarve Cup the following month.
She scored in each of England's first three Women's World Cup qualifying games and is her country's first choice penalty taker.
