Laura was a member of the Coventry City Centre of Excellence, before moving on to play for Birmingham City Ladies and study at Birmingham University. In September 2002, she joined the FA National Player Development Centre to study a degree in Sport & Exercise Science as well as receiving quality coaching every day.
'Bertie' caught the footballing bug by kicking a ball around on the touchline as her brother and her father played. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, netball and basketball. Whilst team captain at Birmingham City, Laura scored one international goal - in the Under-19's 4-3 away defeat against Denmark in November 2001.
She has since made the transition to senior squad member, making her debut in the international against Italy in February 2003 as a substitute.
