Katie Chapman's 29th minute goal took England to join Spain at the top of the World Cup qualifying table for group Five, with a game in hand.

Not the greatest spectacle, with both sides trying to preserve their unbeaten run so, apart from the one goal that seperated the two sides in the first half, and a burst of threatening play from Spain late in the second half, England were just relieved to get the three points.

The three Lions looked the side most likely to find the net again, but despite a battling effort from both teams, and a few near misses, the scoreline remained at 1-0, in front of 5,041 fans, and Hope Powell's team can look forward to a break before the trip to Malta in May.
