Fabio Capello, the England coach, was pleased with the first-half performance his side put in against Switzerland.
The Three Lions took top spot in their European Championship qualifying group thanks to a 3-1 win in Basle, with goals from Wayne Rooney, Adam Johnson and Darren Bent.
Although England did take their foot off the gas a bit in the second-half, Capello was pleased with the overall performance.
"We played the first-half fantastic, it was important to w n and we played really well," he said.
"In the second half we played probably too slow, but after the second goal when it was 10 players versus 11 it was too easy."
The Italian was also happy to see Rooney get on the scoresheet after a turbulent few days due to tabloid revelations about his private life.
"He scored a goal, this is important for him and us. He did some things very well, pressed their most important players. I'm really happy for Rooney.
"He was always the centre of movement and it was a really important moment for the player. He's a really big player, the pressure was strong for him but he played very well."
