England aim for perfect qualification

England head into their final two World Cup qualifiers with a place at the 2026 tournament already secured but still with plenty to play for, not least a place on the plane next summer.

Thomas Tuchel's side have a 100% win record and no goals conceded to date from their six matches, impressive statistics no matter the quality of the opposition with what was expected to be a dangerous Serbia side having fallen apart.

They visit Wembley on Thursday evening before England make the journey to Tirana next week to face Albania, their hosts hoping for a favour from the Three Lions against Serbia to secure their spot in the play-offs.

With 80 caps to his name already, Jordan Pickford looks set fair to reach his century over the next couple of years and, having missed the friendly defeat against Senegal in the summer, heads into this final international window of 2025 having not conceded a goal in seven England matches.
