England's next two Euro 2020 opponents met on Monday evening and there was a historic first victory in qualification for a major tournament for Kosovo, 3-2 winners away to Bulgaria to move onto five points from their three matches to date.

Bulgaria, who have just two points from four games, travel to Wembley on 7th September while Southampton's St Mary's Stadium hosts the Kosovo fixture three days later.

The Czech Republic eased past Montenegro to move level with England at the top of Group A, albeit having played a game more than the Three Lions.

Montenegro, meanwhile, sacked their Serbian coach Ljubisa Tumbakovic after he failed to turn up for Friday's qualifier against Kosovo, a nation whose independence the Serb authorities do not recognise.

After England's opening win over Scotland at the Women's World Cup the other two teams in Group D played on Monday but Argentina and Japan had to settle for a point apiece from a goalless draw.

England take on Argentina in their next game on Friday evening.
