Out until at least early March with an ankle injury, England captain Harry Kane faces a race to be fit for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Montenegro.

The battle to replace the World Cup Golden Boot winner began in earnest on Saturday with Marcus Rashford continuing his excellent Manchester United form under the management of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

"No-one beats him on work-rate. No-one beats him on attitude," said Solksjaer after Rashford's scored for the fourth straight league game against Brighton.

Having netted on his England debut against the USA in November, Callum Wilson of Bournemouth continued the form that has seen him linked with Chelsea when netting an excellent weekend goal against West Ham.

Raheem Sterling was on the scoresheet for Manchester City at Huddersfield on Sunday while England Under-21 regular Tammy Abraham notched his 17th goal for the season for Aston Villa in the Championship.
