England On The Road For Switzerland Clash

Last updated : 20 April 2018 By Three Lions

The Three Lions will move away from Wembley for their post-World Cup friendly with the Swiss.

The venue for the game, to be played on 11 September, has yet to be announced.

Gareth Southgate’s team will finalise their preparations for Russia 2018 at Elland Road on 7 June when they take on Costa Rica and it is good to see the Football Association looking to take another friendly out on the road.

Sunderland’s Stadium of Light and Manchester’s Etihad Stadium hosted the last away days for the pre-Euro 2016 warm-ups against Australia and Turkey respectively.

With Leeds set for the next one perhaps the FA will look to the Midlands or the South as a potential venue and Brighton’s Amex Stadium could be a shout with the Seagulls looking increasingly set to remain a Premier League club next season.
