England Women Frustrated By Wales

Phil Neville's England side were held to a goalless draw in Friday evening's World Cup qualifier.

Over 25,000 were in attendance at Southampton's St Mary's ground and watched as England failed to find a way past a well-organised Wales side who remain top of the qualifying group albeit having played a game more than their hosts.

Welsh keeper Laura O'Sullivan earned plenty of plaudits for her performance as England lost the momentum gained by their displays in the recent SheBelieves Cup in the USA.

Neville told the BBC afterwards: "It went how I thought it would, we didn't play well in the first half and we showed no patience. We were a lot better in the second half but we didn't put the chances away. We kept them hemmed in.

"Full credit to Wales, they sat deep and nullified our threat."
