England Women's Squad Named For Crucial Clash

Phil Neville has named an experienced squad for the World Cup qualifier with Wales at the end of August.

A win for the hosts in Newport will see them earn automatic qualification for France 2019 and a similar result for England will guarantee their place at the tournament.

If the game ends in a draw then England will need to win in Kazakhstan on September 4 to top the group and avoid a play-off.

Neville has named a squad for both qualifiers which contains plenty of experienced names and only player, Gabby George of Everton, without a senior cap.

“We will have to be at our very best to get the result we need and no one in our squad is looking beyond this match," said Neville whose domestic based players got their competitive season underway at the weekend in the Continental Tyres Cup.

All eyes were on the new Manchester United team as they defeated Liverpool in their first game and Red Devils defender Alex Greenwood is in the squad after suspension.
