English Eyes On Dublin Draws

The Euro 2020 qualifiers and the UEFA Nations League semi-final draw will be decided in Dublin over the next few days with English interest in both after the dramatic late victory against Croatia earlier this month secured Gareth Southgate’s men a place in the inaugural Nations League Finals.

It also meant that the Three Lions will be placed in a five-team group for the Euro 2020 qualifiers, to ensure two free dates for the Nations League Finals, and their opponents for those matches will be drawn out in Dublin on Sunday with fixtures beginning in March.

Finish in the top two of their group and England will qualify for the finals without the need for a play-off.

With the Euro 2020 finals taking place across the continent (the semi-finals and final being played at Wembley) and political issues such as Gibraltar and Spain not being allowed in the same group it means Sunday's draw has a host of permutations and looks set to be a drawn-out affair.

Perhaps that is why England will not find until Monday who they are going to face in the semi-final of the UEFA Nations League but that is a much simpler equation as it will be either hosts Portugal, Switzerland or Holland.

Semi-finals will take place on 5/6 June with the third-place match and final on 9/10 June.
