Mason Greenwood will not be one of Gareth Southgate's 26-player Euro 2020 group, the Manchester United forward pulling out ahead of Tuesday's announcement as to who the England manager will not be selecting from his original 33-man party.
An 'underlying injury' means the 19-year-old is to remain in Manchester for treatment.
Greenwood had come back into contention for a place in the final squad after an impressive run of form in the final months of a congested Premier League campaign.
Southgate will confirm his 26 at 5pm on Tuesday before the warm-up begins in earnest with Wednesday evening's friendly against Austria at the Riverside Stadium.
