The upcoming qualifier against Montenegro at Wembley is also a landrmark occasion for the England national team as it marks the 1,000 game that the men's senior side have played.

Gareth Southgate's current crop will be looking to secure their place at Euro 2020 on Thursday 14th but the wider significance of the fixture will be marked by the Football Association.

The team that takes the field in Three Lions' shirts will have their own player legacy numbers underneath the England badge, Tyrone Mings becoming the 1,244th player to pull on the shirt when making his debut in Bulgaria.

All former England captains, 50+ cap internationals and 1966 World Cup winners have been invited to the game.

Visitors to the National Football Museum in Manchester can also take a look at a new exhibition marking the 1,000th game which will be on show until the end of the year.
