Foxes Trio Scenting An England Future?

England head to Leicester on Tuesday to face Switzerland at the King Power Stadium and the Foxes are doing their bit to try and provide players for the national team on the back of their 2-1 defeat by Spain in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday evening.

Harry Maguire, of course, will get a rousing reception on his home ground after his performances for the Three Lions during Russia 2018 and also the down-to-earth manner in which he has shrugged off reported interest from Manchester United to carry on impressing in the heart of the Leicester defender in the early weeks of the season.

There will be no international send-off for Jamie Vardy after his mutual agreement with Gareth Southgate to step down from England duty but below the surface of the national team there are a trio of players who will each harbour hopes of a call from Southgate in the year ahead.

Ben Chilwell, Demarai Gray and James Maddison all played in the Under-21's goalless draw against the Netherlands on Thursday evening, a result that keeps England five points clear of their opponents in their European Championship qualification group and all three will hope to benefit from regular Premier League action.

A BBC article on the (lack) of playing time in the top-flight for members of Aidy Boothroyd’s Under-21 squad so far this season does highlight that Chilwell, Gray and Maddison have been regulars for Leicester to date and all appear to be firmly in the thinking of manager Claude Puel.

The Under-21's head to Latvia on Tuesday evening looking to take a further step towards qualification for the 2019 Euros which will be held in Italy and San Marino.

Update: Chilwell and Gray will link up with the senior squad for Tuesday's clash.
