Burnley Skipper Tom Heaton has been named in Roy Hodgson’s 26-man squad for England's UEFA Euro 2016 preparation fixtures.

Heaton, who is still waiting for his first cap, will link up the Three Lions at St Georges’ Park on Wednesday 18 May. This is five days ahead of the friendly against Turkey at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

England will then face Australia in Sunderland and Portugal at Wembley before heading to their base in France.

The Clarets stopper has impressed for the Clarets during the 2015/16 season. He has kept 20 clean sheets on the way to lifting the SKY Bet Championship trophy.

If Tom appears in the finals, he will be the first Burnley player to make an appearance for England at a major tournament, since John Connelly appeared for England in the 1966 World Cup.

On behalf of Madders everywhere I would like to congratulate Tom on his call-up. Come on Roy, give the lad his cap? (TEC)
