Carlo Ancelotti, the AC Milan manager, says he will not put pressure on David Beckham to stay at the club beyond his current loan - but would welcome an extension of the midfielder's spell at the San Siro.

The England international is on loan at the Serie A side until March, with speculation that the Italians will ask Los Angeles Galaxy to extend the agreement until the end of the season.

Beckham scored his first goal for Milan when he rounded off Sunday's 4-1 win over Bologna.

"In football anything's possible. Beckham knows what our wish is. We all hope that he can stay with us." Ancelotti said.

"Once Beckham goes back to America on March 9, we'd certainly be saddened. But there will be no kind of pressure from the club. The choice is only and exclusively his."
