Nations League Finalists Confirmed

England will be joined by hosts Portugal, Switzerland and Holland in the final four of the new UEFA Nations League after some dramatic matches during the November international break.

The Three Lions turned around a possible relegation from Group A of the Nations League into an end-of-season chance of silverware thanks to two late goals against Croatia at Wembley but even that was fairly tame compared to Switzerland putting five goals past Belgium to take their place in the finals and the Netherlands netting a 90th minute equaliser against Germany that denied France the opportunity to add to their World Cup victory.

The draw for the finals will take place in Dublin at 3.30pm GMT on Monday 3 December with two semi-finals to take place on 5 and 6 June. The winners of those games will meet in the Nations League Final on 9 June, which is also the date of the third-place play-off for the losing semi-finalists.

And with Euro 2020 set to take place across Europe (and at Wembley in its closing stages) and Qatar hosting the next World Cup then there are sure to be plenty of England supporters checking flights and hotels in Portugal over the next few days.
