The Three Lions will head to Portugal in June knowing that they are well on the way to Euro 2020 qualification following a second five-goal haul in the space of four days in Montenegro on Monday evening.

England's attacking options continue to grow and the Montenegro match saw Callum Hudson-Odoi burst onto the international scene having been handed a start by manager Gareth Southgate.

"You can see the talent, and his application with us has been excellent and he’s got to continue that," said Southgate of the Chelsea youngster.

"It's a great step forward for him, but like any player, you’ve got to constantly work and look to improve."

Given a number of call-offs, at the busiest time of the club football season, Southgate will be delighted to see the feel-good factor around his side continue to grow with a large Wembley crowd enjoying Friday evening's stroll against the Czech Republic followed by a televised treat for those tuning in on Monday.

The early injury suffered by Eric Dier against the Czechs also handed Ross Barkley a chance to shine and the Chelsea midfielder followed up an impressive Wembley display by pulling the strings in Podgorica while West Ham's Declan Rice showed why Southgate and the FA were keen for him to switch his international allegiance.

Comfortably on the way to qualifying for next year's summer jamboree, England now have the chance to lift some silverware in the Nations League where they will take on Holland on 6 June.
