New Faces Get Chance To Impress Neville

Injuries have meant a re-jigging of Phil Neville's first England Women squad.

The former Manchester United and Everton defender faces a tough baptism at the SheBelieves Cup as the Lionesses get ready to take on France, Germany and hosts USA in what is probably the biggest challenge England face outside of the finals of the World Cup and European Championships.

Having watched a number of WSL games since his appointment, Neville named a 23-player squad for the tournament but has seen experienced trio Steph Houghton, Jordan Nobbs and Karen Carney withdraw due to injury.

Manchester City duo Abbie McManus and Georgia Stanway have been drafted in alongside Rachel Daly of Houston Dash.

Neville told the FA website: "When I named the squad I mentioned there were some exciting players pushing hard for inclusion.

"While we are sorry to lose three experienced names, this is a brilliant opportunity for Rachel, Abbie and Georgia.

"It also means I get to see at first hand some of those who will be pushing the more established players for a place in our World Cup plans."
