Not American Football But US Soccer At Wembley

England return to action with a friendly against the USA on Thursday 15th November with Gareth Southgate's side still on a high from their excellent victory in Spain and preparing for their final Nations League group game against Croatia on Sunday 18th.

The manager's willingness to be bold in his squad selection means that there may be one or two more new faces in the England party with Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson being tipped for a first call-up.

An example of the ever-increasing speed of change is that Jadon Sancho was considered an experiment pick for the last set of international matches but having shown himself unfazed by the step up he has since continued his fine form for Borussia Dortmund and looks set to become an England regular for the foreseeable future.

Their friendly opponents continue to be in something of a transitional phase having failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Interim coach Dave Sarachan is set to remain in charge for the Wembley visit. Gregg Berhalter is the favourite to take over on a permanent basis but is currently involved in the MLS play-offs with Colombus Crew (with his side knocking Wayne Rooney's D.C. United.

Similarly a number of domestic-based players still involved in those play-offs may not make the trip across with a largely European-based squad set to be named for matches against England and Italy.
