Olympic Postponement For England Boss Neville

The 2020 Olympics have been postponed due to the worldwide coronavirus outbreak with organisers hoping that the Games will take place in summer 2021.

A Great Britain team had been scheduled to take part in the women's football tournament with England manager Phil Neville set to take charge and select a squad drawn mainly from the ranks of the Lionesses.

Given the recent speculation about his own future the tournament was shaping up to be something of a poison chalice for Neville and with the Euro 2021 competition due to be played at a similar time of year it now remains to be seen whether he wil have the time or inclination to take on both roles.

England defender Lucy Bronze, meanwhile, has been named as the BB Women's Footballer of the Year for 2020.
