Gareth Southgate has written an open letter, on the official FA website, to England supporters urging the whole country to 'work together' in order to come through the 'extreme test' facing the nation as it battles against the outbreak of coronavirus.
Around the time that the Three Lions boss was set to name his squad for friendlies against Italy and Denmark he has instead said that not 'another moment' should be spent thinking about the postponement of those games and Euro 2020.
'Look out for each other. Please don’t suffer alone, and remember that our great country has come through these enormous challenges before – and, together, we will do so again.'
Southgate's words come as speculation continues about whether and when the domestic and European season can continue.
