The England U21 midfielder Danny Rose has suggested confidence is high among the players ahead of Tuesday's European Championship qualifier against Lithuania in Colchester.

The young Three Lions were 1-0 victors in Portugal on Friday to keep alive their hopes of qualifying. Although they cannot catch group winners Greece - who defeated Macedonia on Saturday - another win should be enough to secure a play-off spot.

Rose, who plays for Tottenham Hotspur, will not take Lithuania lightly on Tuesday having been part of the side held to a goalless draw in the Baltics in November.

"When we played in Lithuania it was very frustrating, we should have won but we never so we can't take anything for granted," he said.

"At least we're at home and the gaffer said that being under pressure will help us out. Hopefully he'll keep the same team but with fresh legs added into it we'll be ready for the match.

"The gaffer has said he's got a good feeling about the camaraderie and the team spirit that we have. We can carry that into Tuesday's game and then look forward to the play-offs."
