England Women hit four goals at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening, breaking down a stubborn Northern Ireland side to maintain their 100% start to qualification for the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Despite enjoying almost total domination of the ball, the Lionesses were unable to break down a stubborn Irish defence during the opening 45 minutes of a game watched by a 23,000+ crowd.

Having qualified for next summer's European Championship in England, Northern Ireland were determined to show their quality and briefly made inroads into the home half as the match re-started.

But substitute Beth Mead's introduction into the fray proved to be the key moment, her smart finish almost immediately after coming on breaking the deadlock before she added two more for a 14-minute hat-trick.

Bethany England put the icing on the cake for Sarina Wiegman's side and they now go to Latvia on Tuesday evening for a game that will be televised on ITV4.

Tickets are available from the FA Ticketing page for the November qualifiers at home to Austria at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland, on Saturday 27th and Latvia at Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium on Tuesday 30th.
