Not only have Steve Cooper's side reached the final, thanks to their superb victory against Brazil on Wednesday, but they have done so in a tournament where the Indian public have come out in huge numbers.

They return to a familiar venue for Saturday's final against Spain which will, like England's semi-final, be played at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.

The debate, about how much football these players will end up playing in the Premier League in future, is for another day.

Whatevers happens in their footballing careers, few will get the opportunity to play in a World Cup final in front of 66,000 people.

Many more would like to be at the game as, according to FIFA, around one million people tried to buy tickets for the Brazil match.
