It was a World Cup warm-up, but what the hell was England manager Roy Hodgson thinking?
Was this the stage to throw on kids making their first appearance? The World Cup is a week away and Hodgson is planning for 2018!
If he doesn't get past the group stages he will be a memory of 2014, never mind 2018.

In my mind Sterling deserved to be set off - PERIOD - because this was a friendly and tackles had been timed, because a rash tackle could ruin a player's dreams.
That WAS a rash tackle. He saw red, and deservedly so.
As for the performances, what did we learn?
Wayne Rooney is not a winger and James Milner is not a full-back.

Apart from Norwich's John Ruddy, Ben Foster was the most unpredictable keeper in the Premier League last season, and that showed again last night.
He is not Premier League class ... never mind World Cup class.
Sorry, but last night put the fear of God into me. If we get out of that Group I will be surprised, because the manager has not got a clue!
