The Football Association have delayed announcing their final squad for this summer's European Championship, despite apparently already informing players who had made the cut.
Stuart Pearce's final 23-man squad was due to be announced on Thursday afternoon, but will now not be made public until Monday.
One player definitely going to Demnark is the Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere. His Gunners boss Arsene Wenger confirmed his selection to media on Thursday, apparently unaware of the FA's decision to delay the announcement.
The Watford goalkeeper Scott Loach, who played in the final of the last tournament when England lost to Germany, revealed he had not made the cut.
The FA say they have delayed the announcement until Monday so it was made after the final round of Premier League fixtures, but speculation suggests it may well be over concerns the Liverpool forward Andy Carroll does not want to drop back to U21 level after representing the Three Lions at senior level.
