England U21 defender Ben Mee is hoping a season in the Championship with Burnley can kick-start his career.

The defender, 21, is on loan at Turf Moor from Manchester City after finding the first-team at Eastlands impossible to break into without more experience.

He made his senior debut for City in last season's Carling Cup, and gained more substantial first-team experience on loan at Leicester City.

Mee said: I'm excited and raring to go. The manager thinks we can do well and I believe him and hopefully we can get going this year.

"I'm looking forward to playing in the shirt and having a good season."
