James Collins, the Aston Villa defender, did not suffer a serious injury during Wales' 1-0 European Championship loss to Montenegro on Friday.

Collins, 27, appeared to be elbowed by Miodrag Dzudovic, but fears of a broken cheekbone or nose were allayed on Sunday. He has nothing more serious than a black eye.

John Toshack, the Wales coach, criticised the match referee after the incident - arguing that Dzudovic should have been sent off.

He has already marked down next month's game against Bulgaria as "must-win" for his side if they are to have realistic hopes of qualifying for the 2012 finals in Poland and Ukraine.
