The Spain international is one of the hottest striking talents in Europe but, with the Primera Liga club struggling with rising debts, he could be offloaded in the transfer window should they receive a "an exorbitant offer".

The 27-year-old hitman has previously been linked with £30million moves to Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Villa's teammate for club and country, David Silva, could also be on his way out of the Mestalla this month, according to Valencia's vice-president Fernando Gomez Colomer.

The Spain winger has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United in the past.
