Confusion surrounds Andrei Arshavin's proposed transfer to Arsenal after Zenit St Petersburg announced a fee had been agreed for the Russia international.
The Gunners have still to confirm whether the transfer has actually been completed, saying they have not improved their offer. They were willing to pay £12million plus add-ons, while Zenit were asking for £20m. It is unclear what price the Russian side believe they have accepted.."The fundamental understanding over the transfer of the player is achieved between the clubs," read Zenit's statement.
"At the moment the basic obstacle in realisation of the transaction is Andrei Arshavin's personal requirements."
The Czech Republic international Tomas Rosicky is believed to have returned to training with the Gunners following long-term injury problems.
