Franz Beckenbauer, chairman of the organising committee for the Women's U20 World Cup, has tipped this year's tournament to throw up future stars of the game.
Mo Marley's young England side are one of 16 sides in Germany looking to be crowned World champions come Sunday August 1.
They will be up against Nigeria, Mexico and Japan in Group C and would face sterner tests should they come up against some of the powerhouses of the game such as the United States or the hosts in the knockout stages.
"Intensive emotions, unforgettable surroundings and new experiences will influence players' idevelopment both on and off the pitch, as well as proving an important step on the road to further success," said Beckenbauer.
"This tournament will provide these talented young players with the opportunity to stake their claims for a place in the senior squad for next year's senior World Cup.
"An U20 World Cup is the perfect advertisement for football's unifying powers, not to mention the highly-motivated young women who will be hoping to show the best of their skills out on the pitch.
"The attractive style of play so typical of U20 women's footballers is characterised by a tireless desire to attack, meaning fans can expect plenty of thrilling, high-scoring matches."
