The England Women's side will be without three US-based players for the World Cup qualifier against Turkey later this month.

Kelly Smith and Karen Carney have been left out of the squad due to minor injuries, while Karen Bardsley

Victory for England at the Bescot Stadium would secure top place in their qualifying group, guaranteeing a play-off for a place in next year's finals in Germany.

"Turkey can't qualify for the World Cup now and they will no doubt be hoping to put on a good performance against a team that is expected to get to the play-offs," the England coach Hope Powell told the Foootball Association's website

"They have got nothing to lose and something to prove. They can use this game as a marker to see how far they have progressed, so we need to be on our guard.

"It's important to get a good display under our belts and if this game does get us the win we need then I'd like us to get to the play-offs with a bit of style."
