The England Women's U17 side secured their place in the second round of qualifying for the European Championship.

This comfortable victory leaves the young Three Lionesses tied with Belgium on six points from their two games in this qualifying round, with both teams now assured of progression.

England took the lead through Paige Williams after 28 minutes, with Melissa Lawley and Bethan Merrick ensuring the score with 3-0 to Lois Fidler's side at half-time.

Merrick secured her hat-trick with two goals early in the second-half, with Bethany Mead completing the scoring 13 minutes on time.

Despite a goal difference of plus nine from their two games in Belgium, the hosts are ahead of England.

Both sides put seven past Armenia without reply, but Belgium's 3-0 win over Turkey on Tuesday put them top of the group as England managed only a 2-0 win.

This stage of qualifying will conclude on Friday night with England playing Belgium to finish top of the group - only a win would see the Three Lionesses go top, a draw or defeat would see them finish second.
