Sven-Goran Eriksson, the former England coach, is considering staying in charge of the Ivory Coast until after the 2014 World Cup.
Eriksson, 62, had been considered one of the favourites to replace Roy Hodgson as Fulham manager but revealed on Wednesday he has been asked to stay with the Elephants.
He signed a short-term contract earlier this year to coach them during the World Cup finals, where they were eliminated at the group stage.
"They [Ivory Coast)] were really pleased and I guess that I can stay on if I want to," Eriksson told SVT.
"If so, it will be for four years until the next World Cup finals. I'll make up my mind in a week or so. I have to do it soon since there are friendlies in August and qualifications for the Africa Cup of Nations in September and October."
If Eriksson stays with the Ivory Coast he will be expected to challenge for the Africa Cup of Nations in 2012 and 2013 as well as reach the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
