In a new feature on England MAD, the site editor puts his money where his mouth is with betting tips

This new section sees the England MAD editor Luke Thornhill put up £10 of his own money every Friday. He will stick the money on bets with Paddy Power and after the weekend we will review his bets. The theory is that as it is his own money on the line he will put more thought into the bets, and they will be more effective than tips put forward by many so-called experts.
For the opening week, we asked for four bets at £2.50 each.
11/10 - Craig Bellamy to score for Cardiff City v Doncaster Rovers
Last week time constraints meant this feature was not launched, but James Milner to score against West Ham was one of our planned tips. He duly delivered the farewell he'd have wanted to Aston Villa supporters.  Craig Bellamy will want to make an impact here, albeit for different reasons. Cardiff's signing of Bellamy on loan from Manchester City is not guaranteed to be a success - players tend to find the drop down a struggle - but expect him to get off to a flyer by scoring at some point in the match.
21/10 - Billy Sharp to score for Doncaster Rovers v Cardiff City
Billy Sharp is one of the most natural goalscorers in the Championship, if anyone is going to get a goal for Rovers at Cardiff it is him. Expect Cardiff to come out on top in the match, but they will need to score a couple of goals.
12/5 - Darren Bent to score first for Sunderland v West Brom
I actually meant to continue the scoring at any time streak, but selected this wrong so let's hope he scores before anyone else for the Black Cats. The Baggies were taken to pieces by Chelsea last week, and while there is no shame in losing to them expect their defence to be shakey.
7/2 - Oldham to win away at Charlton
The most outlandish of my selections. Paul Dickov's side impressed me away to Scunthorpe in the Carling Cup and will be strong contenders for the play-offs in eague One thie season.
Why Paddy Power?
We have a deal with Paddy Power where we receive a small sum for each sign-up from someone who clicks through from us. If you would prefer to use a different bookmaker feel free to do so, but if you do intend to use Paddy Power please use the links provided. Better odds may be available elsewhere, but in our experience the main bookmakers offer similar prices.
