Tragically killed in the Munich air disaster of February 1958, aged just 21, Duncan Edwards had already made 18 international appearances by the time of his death.
Seen as the greatest footballer of his generation, a glittering career lay ahead of Edwards for both Manchester United and England.
His legacy lives on, not just at Old Trafford but in his hometown of Dudley where Edwards first England appearance, on 2 April 1955 against Scotland at Wembley, aged just 18 years and 183 days old.
The Duncan Edwards United organisation is marking the occasion with a special dinner and on their website have a lovely montage of all of the programmes from Edwards' all too brief England career.
