England's first World Cup opponents Croatia have added a friendly against Belgium to their preparations for the tournament in North America this summer, the game set to take place on 2 June in Rijeka.
Croatia, also drawn alongside England for the next edition of the UEFA Nations League, together with Spain and the Czech Republic, will look to acclimatise themselves to World Cup conditions with two matches on US soil in March.
Zlatko Dalic's side will take on Colombia in Orlando on 26 March and then Brazil in the same city five days later.
Having reached the final, at England's expense, in 2018 and then the semi-finals in Qatar, Croatia represent extremely tough opening opponents for England and, with Luka Modric still going strong, came through qualifying for 2026 in comfortable fashion with seven wins and a draw from their eight matches.
Currently just six matches short of 200 international appearances, Modric's incredible career in Croatian colours stretches all the way back to two vital wins against England that saw Steve McClaren's side fail to qualify for Euro 2008.
