England manager Thomas Tuchel will be keeping an ever-keener eye on La Liga next season with the expected announcement of Marcus Rashford as a Barcelona player set to increase the number of those in Tuchel's World Cup plans to be playing in the Spanish top-flight.
Recalled to the England squad earlier this year after showing glimpses of his old form in a loan spell with Aston Villa, Rashford returned to Manchester United and an uncertain future at the end of the campaign but now Barcelona look set to take advantage of the willingness of the Old Trafford hierarchy to offload him and how that fits into their own financial considerations.
That will mean regular Champions League football and potentially a part to play in huge domestic clashes against international colleagues Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold at Real Madrid and Connor Gallagher across at Atletico.
Tuchel will also, of course, be staying up to speed with the Bundesliga as Harry Kane embarks on his third season with Bayern Munich and that could also involve checking out the younger Bellingham after Jobe followed in the footsteps of Jude to join Borussia Dortmund earlier this summer, participation in the Club World Cup meaning he could not take part in England's sucessful Euro U21 title defence.
