England fans start pricing up World Cup trip

England's players ensured their place at the 2026 World Cup in emphatic style last week, Thomas Tuchel's side easing past Latvia in Riga to seal top place in their qualifying group with a couple of matches to spare.

That also means that any England supporter thinking about going to North America can begin the task of organising their journey and, perhaps more importanly, funding their trip.

Nothing can nailed down until December's group stage draw gives a clearer idea of where Tuchel's side will be playing their opening three matches, and allow for potential routes through the knockout stage to be plotted.

But stories abound already about how much tickets may cost under the dynamic pricing model in place for the tournament with other factors to take into account.

Thomas Concannon of the Football Supporters Association told BBC Sport recently: "If fans are successful in obtaining a category four ticket from the first game to the last, that could set them back $3,180 (£2,363) at least.

"That is more than double what Qatar cost.

"Combined with travel and accommodation, this will be the most expensive World Cup for match-going fans we've ever seen by some distance."
