England fly through Tuchel's toughest test

In what was expected to be the toughest test to date for Thomas Tuchel in his time as England manager, the Three Lions offered a glimpse of what could lie ahead on Tuesday evening as they scored five goals without reply in Serbia and put themselves on the brink of World Cup qualification.

The hosts had no response to a bright, energetic and forceful England display and the game was as good as over just after the half-hour mark as goals from Harry Kane and a first senior international strike for the impressive Noni Madueke confirmed the visitors' superiority.

Urged in the ITV studio not to let up after half-time, England showed no signs of slowing down with Ezri Konza and Marc Guehi netting before subsitute Marcus Rashford put the icing on the cake with a late penalty.

Tuchel had opted for Anthony Gordon ahead of Rashford and given Morgan Rogers his chance over Eberechi Eze after Saturday's slightly laboured success over Andorra and was rewarded, not just by the players who came in but his whole team and those, such as Rashford, who came off the bench.

With the amount of talent unavailable to the head coach for this international window, it bodes well for a World Cup which England are now heading towards having moved seven points clear of Albania at the top of the qualifying group
