England's Women are European Champions again after a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory against Spain on Sunday saw Sarina Wiegman's side retain their crown three years after their triumph at Wembley.
A rollercoaster tournament in Switzerland ended with the Lionesses once again coming from a goal down as Alessia Russo headed in a second-half equaliser and then soaked up pressure from the World champions in a tense extra-time period.
A first-half injury to Lauren James had seen Chloe Kelly enter the fray earlier than usual but England's supersub had an instant impact on the game and sent in the cross for Russo's goal.
Kelly then stepped up to score the winning penalty after Hannah Hampton had pulled off two excellent saves to cap her breakout tournament and fully justify Wiegman's decision to make her England's number one.
And for the manager it means an incredible third successive Euros victory and sights now firmly set on the 2027 World Cup.
Speaking to the BBC after the game, Kelly said: "It is going to be crazy. I hope the whole of England comes out to support us and shows their love to these girls as they deserve it."
