England impress in Belgium rout

England Women continued their unbeaten start to 2025 and impressed a sell-out crowd at Ashton Gate on Friday evening with a 5-0 victory against Belgium in the Nations League.

Having won a hard-fought game with world champions Spain last time out, England enjoyed the opportunity to showcase their attacking options against a Belgian side who were never able to get grips with an all-action display from Sarina Wiegman's players.

The structure of a team capable of defending their Euros crown is beginning to come together for England and it has the look of the 2022 triumph as the likes of Lucy Bronze, Millie Bright and Keira Walsh show their importance to the side.

All three were on the scoresheet in Bristol, Walsh delighted to get a first England goal on her 83rd appearance, while Wiegman's options in all areas of the pitch were shown with substitutes Aggie Beever-Jones and Jess Park also netting.

"The things we wanted to do for most of the game we did. The subs came in and brought new energy," said Wiegman afterwards.

"They really showed up. We got the dynamics in possession and what I really liked was that we kept it simple and together.

A return fixture with Belgium is next up in this window before a Wembley date with Portugal at the end of May. Tickets are on sale for that game from the Wembley website.
