Aleksandar Mitrovic heads into the World Cup qualifier with England having earned his 100th cap for Serbia during the last international break.
The 30-year-old striker, now plying his trade for Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, celebrated the milestone by scoring a hat-trick against Andorra as the Serbs gained their first win of qualification having been held to a draw in Albania days earlier.
Mitrovic has been named in head coach Dragan Stojkovic's preliminary squad for the game with England in Belgrade and the earlier tie away to Latvia. His final selection will be named on 29 August.
England will have around 2,500 supporters for their first visit to Belgrade since 1987 and, in what has been an intimidating atmosphere at times for visiting teams, certainly in the Champions League against Red Star, those fans will be hoping for a similar result to that achieved by Bobby Robson's side to ensure qualification for Euro '88.
Against a very good Yugoslavia side, England blitzed their opponents with four goals inside the opening 25 minutes of the game, Peter Beardsley, John Barnes, Bryan Robson and Tony Adams on the scoresheet.
