England manager Thomas Tuchel singled out Trent Alexander-Arnold for special praise following the full-back's decisive performance in a 2-0 Nations League win over ten-man Czechia in Prague.
The fixture marked a triumphant return to the international starting lineup for the 27-year-old Real Madrid man.
The former Liverpool defender provided the creative breakthrough in the second half, delivering a pinpoint delivery from the right flank to set up Anthony Gordon before captain Harry Kane sealed the victory with a late strike.
Tuchel highlighted Alexander-Arnold's spatial vision and execution, calling his contribution decisive in unlocking a stubborn low defensive block.
“We never doubted that he can produce these kind of assists,” Tuchel said. “I think the second half the position, a bit of a deeper position, suited him more than the higher position in the first half. Overall, I think we had a good and professional performance. Of course the red card is such a heavy influence in the game.
“We need to keep focused, and Trent was a big help in this, because he’s very secure on the ball and can be decisive with his crosses. He did this solid defending and one decisive action that helped us score, so a good performance overall.”
